Life jackets & PFD’s save lives. But they can’t help save you if you don’t wear them. Hundreds of Canadians drown every year, and the vast majority of them (almost 90%) were not wearing life jackets or personal floatation devices when they died. Having a life jacket nearby is not enough. Life jackets and PFD’s should be worn at all times when on or near the water.
