Safe Boating Speed

In Ontario, there is an unposted speed limit of 10 km/h on all waters within 30 meters of the shoreline, unless posted otherwise.

We all know that high speed in a car can lead to disaster, but we don’t often think the same way about boats. Remember, boats don’t have brakes and are not as easy to control as cars.

Always travel at a safe speed when boating, especially near the shoreline.
